Management
The Hungarian State Treasury is a central budgetary institution with independent legal personality, national competence, and autonomous operation and management. The Minister for Finance is responsible for its professional and legal supervision. The institution has been performing its tasks set out in the Act on Public Finances since 1 January 1996, and employs more than five thousand people.
The Treasury Centre deals with issues related to budgetary management and performs tasks concerning the financing and reporting of budgetary institutions. The aforesaid include the central pension insurance, support to families, the social sphere, health insurance, and support for agricultural and rural development.
The Hungarian State Treasury has 19 county directorates the field offices of which deal with specific decentralised issues involving large numbers of clients.
As of 6 April 2021, the appointed president of the Hungarian State Treasury is Csaba Bugár.
